Give Me Candle in My Holder, Keep It Burning

A nursery version:

Little Nanny Etticoat
In a white petticoat,
And a red nose;
The longer she stands
The shorter she grows.

and...

A HORROR version:

Here comes a Candle to light you to Bed
Here comes a Chopper to Chop off your Head
Chip chop chip chop -
the Last Man's Dead.

Pig-Little

From Daily Express Saturday March 18 2006

This little piggie could make the perfect pet

This sweet little chap may not smell quite like a spring slower, but he could be the answer for anyone who has ever fancied a pig for a pet.

He is the first of a new breed of family-friendly 'pocket pigs' that will never grow into giant porkers fit only for life on the farm.

At only severn days old and four inches long, the Peter Pan pig fits comfortably into the palm of your hand. But even fully grown he will be just a fraction of the size of a normal pig.

The unique Pennywell Miniatures are a cross between conventional English pigs and the Kune Kune - a rare bered of pygmy pigs from New Zealand.

They are the brainchild of farmers Chris and Nicky Murray, who six years ago brought a handful of the tiny pigs to Pennywell Farm in Buckfastleigh, Devon, and began breeding.

Now they have five piglets - four girls and a boy - that could be the ultimate pet porkers.

Chris, 55, said: 'People love them because they are child-friendly and stay small and cuddly for a long, long time.

'We will be selling this litter but we have to be certain they find a good home.'

A few years ago the Vietnamese Pot-Bellied Pig became very popular as a pet.

But they fell out of fashion when people began realise how difficult they were to look after when they reach full size.

There are no big surprises in store for anyone who falls for the pig that never grows up.

All the Way From Hawaii

'Christopher Robin?,' whispered Pooh.
'Yes, Pooh Bear?'
'I'll never not remember you.. ever.'

The Clock

There's a neat little clock,
In your hand it stands,
And it points to the time
With its two little hands.
And may we, like the clock,
Keep a face clean and bright,
With hands ever ready
To do what is right.

Tractor Booties

Chunky booties with 'pedrail' decoration. Named by Bo.

Most complicated 'two-needle' booties I've made, the results are quite cheerful given that I almost gave up in the middle.

Sew-nut & Do-knit

Here's the What Donut Are You? quiz. For me, the result is: 'Caramel Crunch Donut' --

You're a complex creature, and you're guilty of complicating things for fun. You've been known to sit around pondering the meaning of life...Or at times, pondering the meaning of your doughnut. To frost or not to frost? To fill or not to fill? These are your eternal questions.

'To sew or to knit?' should be better.
