Pat Cakes

Pat cakes, Pat cakes, baker's man
Bake me three cakes as fast as you can;
Pat them and prick them and mark them with a 'B',
And put them in the oven for Benny and me.

Peakaboo

Further to my vegetable collection, I knitted ‘Five Fat Peas’ during weekend.

Five fat peas in a pea pod pressed
One grew, two grew, so did all the rest.
They grew and grew
And did not stop,
Until one day
The pod went POP!

(And one glided out!)

Winter Summer

100% home made sundae.

Huge scoops of vanilla ice cream, topped with cherry and wafer, not much else is needed, this should help chase the winter blues away!

Have your spoon ready, enjoy an early summer...

Go Veggie

I've never met so many vegetarians/semi-vegetarians in my life! I deeply understand the benefits ---- health/ethical/environmental. And from what I've heard, vegetarians even 'make better lovers'! (Does all that chlorophyll really get their hormones going?)

But for me, it's still difficult to imagine giving up those lovely foods forever. Letting myself eat whatever I like is the lifestyle I want to have.

It's much easier to knit.

Cherry Pie

Billy Boy, pudding and pie,
kissed the girl and made her cry.
When the boys came out to play,
Billy Boy ran away.

Can she bake a cherry pie,
Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Can she bake a cherry pie,
Billy won't you tell me now?
She can bake a cherry pie,
Quick's a cat can wink his eye.
But she is too young to be
Taken from her mother.

I put the rhyme and the lyric together (a little changes made), well, it does make sense.

Dutch Taste

Patricia came back from her admirable ski holiday in Chamonix. She had lovely French food there, and took lots of pictures. It's such a fairy-tale place!

The chocolate she brought us are already gone. This is the sweet gift she got me from Holland.

By the way, the taste of Holland is Toffee.

'Too Cute to Knit'

It's the name of the pattern.

Nice and easy? -- Yeah!
Safe -- No No!

Babies can not wear booties fastened by buttons, even if they are tiny duckling ones.

The name might have to be modified to 'Too Cute to Knit, Too Risky to Wear'.

Precious enough to keep for myself though.

Egg Couple

Jack found one morning,

As I have been told,

His goose had laid him

An egg of pure gold.

Jack drove to his wife,

The news for to tell.

She called him a good boy,

And said it was well.

I changed the rhyme a bit.

In my story, Jack is a driver (look at his hat), his wife is certainly a cook (look at her build).

Finishing Touch

Here they are -- my knitted/crocheted corsages.

I finally put the finishing touches onto them; hope they can make finishing touches to my garments.

I’m not a good pattern-follower, that's why none of them looks identical to the original pattern.

New Comma

My dear mom sent them to me.

They remind me of my old black 'Comma' which Bo likes the best. They are the shoes which you CAN walk with, which your toes feel safe and free like pea in the pod.

The famous Dr. Martens' ad does not suit me any more (although I still can not resist the Mary-Jane):

'I’m single, I collect sands, I read Floyd, I wear Dr. Martens'

Well --

I'm married, I collect miniatures, I read Harry Potter, I wear Comma.

Double Cuties

Ain't they adorable!
We named them after our mew-mew friends Benny and Ginny.
Although Mom calls them 'Piggy Faces' ---- she reckons their soothers as snouts.

Lemon Bear

Things have slowed down a bit with the crochet; I have not mastered tension, gauge or holding my yarn and crochet hook properly. My left hand is so clumsy with the working end of the yarn. Most patterns are confusion to me.

BUT I am still at it.

Any one fancy an Oreo?

I've been in my pajamas for ... 9 days and have spent most of time looping loops. What a perfect beginning of the New Year!

I'll wait for a sunny day to take pics of other fun crafty stuff I made during Xmas. Here's the 'OREO' cookie I finished an hour ago.

You need:
Eva's DETAILED free pattern (Thank you Eva!)
Leftover yarn and any needles
Comfy sofa
Music on
Snacks by hand
Cat Purring on your feet

It looks even realer in Bo's hand. :-)

By the way, there's an 'OREO PERSONALITY TEST'---- 'Psychologists have discovered that the manner in which people eat Oreo cookies provides great insight into their personalities.'

Nonsense of course. I would have chosen 'Twisted apart, the inside, then the cookie' when I was 5 ('
A compulsive liar and exhibit deviant, if not criminal, behavior.'). Now my way is 'The whole thing all at once' ('Totally irresponsible. No one should trust you with their children.')!!!
